DAR Passion: Honoring all those that have come before us in creating the United States of America. Honoring all those that have made the ultimate sacrifice for us to maintain our freedoms as American citizens. Honoring all those currently serving to preserve those same freedoms.

Favorite Patriots: The everyday patriots, who left their families to fight for change, demand freedoms and the right to control their own destiny instead of serving a King that lived thousands of miles away. These everyday patriots used their own lives & know-how to pay for our future freedoms. They faced unbelievable and unspeakable hardships and didn’t know if they would ever return to their families. But they knew that the treason they were committing against the King was the right thing to do.

Favorite Ancestor: James Stevenson for surviving the British prisoner of war ships off the coast of New Jersey. Woffendall Kendall for having courage to fight for change. Jessie Oldham for taking risks in settling his family in the “new frontier” and helping to build Fort Boonesboro. Spencer Hill for the courage, heart, and determination to survive Valley Forge and continue fighting for change.

Favorite Historical Site: Freedom Hall, Mount Vernon, and all of the monuments in Washington DC honoring those that have sacrificed for our country.
