Personal and Educational: Born and reared in Pulaski County, Kentucky where her patriot
John Dick is buried at the Old Sardis Cemetery. She is the youngest child of Jacob B. (deceased) and D. Mildred Haney Gosser, who is a 98-year-old member of the Lexington Chapter.
After completing her formal education in Pulaski County, Pattie moved to Rockcastle County where she worked as a Registered Nurse.
Her husband’s military service took her to Seoul, South Korea, where her daughter was born. After returning to the States she lived in Missouri and then relocated back to Kentucky.
Pattie’s nursing career spanned a number of settings, including hospital, school and public health nursing. She was Clinic Director of the Nathaniel Mission Health Clinic which serves the uninsured of inner city Lexington.
She is married to Joseph Blackburn. The Blackburns volunteer as Master Gardeners, are very active in their church and participate in other community activities.
